Important Safety Information:
Contraindicated for children under 6 years of age, nursing mothers, patients with severe hypertension, severe coronary artery disease, and in patients receiving MAO inhibitor therapy. Considerable caution should be used when prescribing Zinx™ D-Tuss to patients with hypertension, diabetes mellitus, narrow angle glaucoma, hyperthyroidism, increased intraocular pressure, and prostatic hypertrophy. Sympathomimetic amines may produce central nervous system stimulation with convulsions or cardiovascular collapse with accompanying hypotension. The elderly are more likely to exhibit adverse reactions to sympathomimetic amines. Zinx™ D-Tuss may cause excitability, particularly in children. Patients should also be advised to consult a physician immediately if their cough persists for more than one week, tends to recur, or is accompanied by a high fever, rash or persistent headache.
