The zinc group and placebo group did not differ significantly in incidence of adverse events. Compared with placebo, zinc recipients reported more mouth dryness (18 vs. 6 [72% vs. 26%]; p = 0.003) and constipation(6 vs. 0 [ 24% vs. 0% ]; p = 0.02).
